  1. he was my friend and he stimulated me. He gave me 
  2. joy and he gave me insights so I called him a 
  3. genius. But you know, a couple of weeks ago, I 
  4. read, re-read the last paragraph of Understanding  
  5. Media . I was just completing my book called 
  6. Learning A Living  and I was concerned with what 
  7. the impact of information technology on work and 
  8. education, and what the new relationship between 
  9. work and education was going to be. So I looked 
  10. through McLuhan. I scoured him, to find what he 
  11. wrote on automation. The last chapter of 
  12. Understanding Media ‚ÄîI read in fourteen pages, all 
  13. of the ‚Äúbrand new‚Äù ideas that I read in the last five 
  14. years, by authors such as Toffler, Drucker,
